THE FOUNDER

LINDA OSGA, LMT, Certified Holistic Health Facilitator
Certified Yoga Instructor, Gyrotonic/Gyrokinesis Trainer
Certified Nutritional Consultant

Linda is the founder of The Life Breath Institute. Her interest in the healthcare industry began after health challenges in her teen years. Diagnosed with toxemia which presented itself as multiple allergies, skin disorders, hormonal imbalances leading to chronic anxiety---she found healing in alternative medicine. She explored naturopathy, homeopathy, and acupuncture. This prompted her studies in nutrition and wellness, and in 1981 she was certified as a Nutritional Consultant by The School of Nutritional Science in California.

Linda went on to study and work in the fitness industry as a Personal Trainer, Health Club Manager, and Dance Instructor in the early 80’s. This lead to her next area of study, and in 1984 she became a Licensed Massage Therapist from the Massage Institute of New England in Boston.

Linda has been an educator for the massage therapy and fitness industries both locally and nationally since 1986. She was a Team Examiner for the first Sports Massage Certification with the American Massage Therapy Association. She is published in Running Times BREAKTHOUGH RUNNING, Co-authoring a Chapter, Restoring and Resting Your Body in 2000. Her early work was focused in Sports Rehabilitation with professional, Olympic, and amateur athletes. Among her clientele: Amy and Mark Carroll (Olympians/Track), Judy St. Hilaire (Olympian/Track), Bill Rodgers (4-time Boston and NY Marathon Winner), Joan Benoit Samuelson (Gold Medal/1984 Olympic Marathon), Pete and Chrissey Pfitzinger (Olympians), John Treacy (Olympic Silver Medal/Marathon), Tim Mayotte (Tennis Pro), Gigi Fernandez (Olympic Gold Medal-Tennis Doubles).

In the early 80’s she began exploring yoga and then more serious study in the mid-90’s. Motivated by chronic back pain that began as her massage practice grew, yoga assisted in pain management. Her studies included Iyengar, Bikram, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa Flow. She became certified to teach yoga through The White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, California in 2001.

Always having a passion for movement as a healing tool, Linda became a Gyrokinesis and Gyrotonic Trainer (expansive, circular, spiraling movements which assist the flow of energy through the body). She trained with Kathy Van Patten, Master Trainer/Boston and Sebastian Plettenburg of New York.

As her personal and professional journey overlapped, Linda found herself wanting a deeper understanding of Breath. She found this in Full Wave Breathing. Having been introduced to many forms of breath work over the years, the ease, focused intention, no-drama approach with an emphasis on “joy” of the Full Wave Breath practice, peeked her interest. After having a life-transforming experience both personally and professionally, Linda became certified as a Holistic Health Facilitator with Dr. Tom Goode, N.D. of the International Breath Institute. She continues her exploration through her ongoing personal practice and life journey.

Linda is the Co-Author with Dr. Goode,N.D., of the book: BREATH AND GROW RICH: Selfcare to Enrich Your Whole Life, published in 2008.
